Synonym: Zarafshan Complex, Зарафшанский компл.
Lithology and Thickness
Sandy-gravel formations with layers of clays, sandy-loamy, sometimes rubble, sediments of the riverbed, floodplain, and I floodplain terrace and adjacent to them alluvial fans. Thickness 3-15m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Overlies the eroded surface of deposits of various ages.
Upper contact
This is the youngest unit in the schematic stratigraphic column
Regional extent
Zarafshan River valley, Zirabulak-Ziaetdinsky district. It is correlated with the Syrdarya complex (Syrdarya Gr).

Fossils
Contains bone remains of rodents - Ellobius talpinus Pall., Citellus (Colobotis) fulvus Licht., Rettus rettoides Hod., Mus (Mus) Musculus Lin., Cricetulus (Cricetulus) migratorius and other modern species. Analysis of the age by specific weight and optical refractive index of these remains gave a modern dating of the bone-containing layers. Contains remains of modern large mammals and plant remains of currently existing species, objects of human economic activity, starting from the Neolithic era.
